A three-day first edition
The first edition ran from Friday, August 14, through Sunday, August 16, at The Foundry. Capacity was initially set at 96 seats, then expanded to 112 after four tables were added, before the tournament sold out.

Eight cumulative hanchan, no cut
Scores from all eight hanchan accumulate from start to finish. There is no intermediate cut or separate final table: the same cumulative standings cover all eight rounds.
Pairings use a grouped Swiss system. After every round, cumulative standings order the field before the next tables are built. Seats at each table are then drawn with wind tiles.
The rules format used in Boston
The rules used WRC 2025 as their base and enabled several published options: red fives, nagashi mangan, +30/+10 uma, counted yakuman, double ron, and kiriage mangan. The organizers clarified that this choice of rules did not imply any particular affiliation with WRC or Saikouisen.
Each hanchan had a 75-minute limit with no added time. Busting was disabled, so a player below zero continued with debt sticks. Kans revealed the next dora immediately, while pao was disabled.
