Jesper Nøhr wins the 2026 Irish Riichi Championship in Dublin

The Danish player finishes ahead of Adelino Santos and Duy Le after eight hanchan in a 44-player championship.

The 2026 Irish championship brought 44 players to Dublin.

esper Nøhr won the 2026 Irish Riichi Championship on 172.9 points. Final standings published by All-Ireland Mahjong place Adelino Santos second on 152.8 and Duy Le third on 138.8. The 44 players contested eight hanchan on August 22 and 23 at Dublin Business School.

Jesper Nøhr finishes 20.1 points clear

Nøhr finishes 20.1 points ahead of Santos, who is 14 points clear of Duy Le. Sheila Hansen takes fourth on 115.5 points, followed by Tom Pearson in fifth on 105.

Three qualifiers for the Irish final

William O'Brien, sixth on 97.5 points, is the highest-placed Irish player. Simon Picard finishes eighth on 80 points and Jerry Weng ninth on 73.9. They are the three announced qualifiers for the All-Ireland final, where defending champion Tramy Le awaits.

Eight hanchan and 44 players in Dublin

The championship ran over five hanchan on Saturday and three on Sunday under European Mahjong Association riichi rules. EMA rates the event MERS 3 and records six represented countries.

This third edition was the first held in Dublin after two championships in Cork. The 2026 European riichi calendar gathers the next certified events of the season.
