EX Fūrin Kazan returns to the title five seasons later

EX Fūrin Kazan wins its second title with 268.8 points. The season also tested its rebuilt roster and produced four individual award winners.

炎, the flame. EX Fūrin Kazan takes the trophy again.

X Fūrin Kazan won the 2025-26 M.League after the May 15 final. On 268.8 points, the team finished ahead of KONAMI Mahjong Fight Club on 124.7, TEAM RAIDEN on 122.1, and BEAST X on 92.7. It is the club’s second title after the 2020-21 season.

A tight final table behind the champion

EX Fūrin Kazan won by a wide margin: 144.1 points over its nearest rival.

Behind the champion, only 32 points separated the other three finalists. KONAMI held second by 2.6 points over TEAM RAIDEN. BEAST X finished fourth in its first final appearance.

A roster rebuilt before the season

The club entered the season after a regular-season elimination and had changed half its roster. 2025 WRC champion Kotaro Uchikawa and Kosuke Nagai had joined Aki Nikaido and Kenji Katsumata. That four-player roster won the 2025-26 final.

Aki Nikaido combined player and team-management responsibilities. In the club’s season review, she points to Nagai’s integration, Katsumata’s late return to form, and Uchikawa’s contribution.

Four players split the individual awards

Kazunori Takizawa recorded the most first-place finishes. Sho Shiratori led fourth-place avoidance. Kotaro Uchikawa posted the highest single-game score, while Geki Shimoishi finished first in individual points. The four awards went to four different players.

How the final score is calculated

M.League reduces scores at each transition from regular season to semifinals and final. A team can lead for months, then begin the next stage with a smaller advantage. EX Fūrin Kazan’s +268.8 describes the final series, not the raw sum of its entire season.

The published season table then places Sega Sammy Phoenix fifth, Akasaka Drivens sixth, Shibuya ABEMAS seventh, U-NEXT Pirates eighth, KADOKAWA Sakura Knights ninth, and EARTH JETS tenth. Those six clubs complete the league’s official ten-team standings.

The move into 2026-27 is already underway

The next season’s draft, all forty contracts, and the schedule are published. The 2026-27 M.League guide covers the three recruits, format, and 300 regular-season matches.
