The score table
Understand the riichi score table: how han and fu combine through the formula base = fu × 2^(2+han) to produce the final point value.
The principle
For an ordinary hand below the limit tiers, value comes from two counts: han from yaku, dora and uradora, and fu from structure and win method. Base score equals fu × 2^(2+han), then multipliers and rounding set the payments. Limit tiers and yakuman replace this calculation.
Rule and example
That base score is multiplied by role and win type, then each payment is rounded up to the nearest hundred. On ron, a non-dealer collects 4 times the base and the dealer 6 times, paid by the discarder. On tsumo, the dealer claims 2 times the base from everyone; a non-dealer claims 2 times the base from the dealer and 1 time from each other player. The pre-rounding coefficients differ, but the final ratio is not constant.
What changes
Under Tenhou rules, mangan pays 8,000 on a non-dealer ron and 12,000 on a dealer ron; then come haneman at 6 or 7 han, baiman at 8 to 10, sanbaiman at 11 or 12, and kazoe yakuman from 13 han. A genuine yakuman is a separate pattern, and different yakuman may stack.
Mistake to avoid
Tenhou does not use kiriage mangan: common non-dealer ron cells are 3 han 30 fu at 3,900, 3 han 40 fu at 5,200, and 4 han 30 fu at 7,700. WRC 2025 raises 4 han 30 fu and 3 han 60 fu to mangan and calls its ordinary 13-han tier yonbaiman. Seat, win method, and rounding must always be stated.
